WriteForge processes writing when you ask it to. Here is what leaves your device, what we keep, and what you can control.

Your writing and AI processing

When you run a writing action, WriteForge receives the text iOS makes available as selected, text you copied, or available text-box content in Auto mode, together with the action instructions. iOS and the app you’re writing in can limit the available text. WriteForge does not send a running feed of your typing.

With your permission, WriteForge sends this content through its backend to third-party AI providers to carry out your request. The app explains what is shared and asks for permission before AI processing starts. We may change providers over time. If the configured provider or processing destination changes, WriteForge asks for permission again.

WriteForge does not retain your submitted writing or generated results on its servers after processing. We keep account, subscription, and usage records to provide access and calculate your remaining allowance; these records do not contain your writing.

If Dictation is enabled for your account, the app separately guides you through its permissions. The AI-processing disclosure includes recordings before they can be sent for transcription. WriteForge does not retain recordings on its servers after processing. A temporary recording or handoff result may remain on your device while dictation completes.

Third-party AI processing

Third-party AI providers may retain and review submitted content to detect misuse, investigate security incidents, protect people, and comply with legal obligations. This retention is separate from WriteForge’s account and usage records.

Retention periods and other uses of content, including whether content may be used to improve services or models, depend on the provider, service terms, and account settings that apply. We do not promise zero provider retention or a fixed deletion deadline for provider-held content. Please avoid sending sensitive information you do not want to share with third-party providers. Contact us for information about the providers currently used and their data practices.

Account and subscription records

WriteForge uses Sign in with Apple to keep purchases attached to the account that activated them. Apple may provide your name and email address, including a private relay address, when you first authorize the app. Apple subscription notifications contain signed transaction information, not your name or email address.

We keep your account identifier, supplied profile details, consent record, subscription and transaction identifiers, access status, expiration dates, and usage totals. Per-request usage records contain the model, reasoning setting, token or audio-duration counts, cost, and pricing at the time of the request. They do not contain your writing or recordings. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Access-grant records may include an administrator note, allowance, validity dates, account limits, and each activation’s time and account. Access credentials are stored as one-way hashes with only their last four characters visible to administrators. After account deletion, anonymous activation counts remain without your account details. Administrators can grant, change, or revoke complimentary access without changing your Apple subscription.

Your settings and iCloud

Your action names, instructions, ordering, and snippets are saved locally and may sync through your personal iCloud key-value store. Apple governs iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy. WriteForge account deletion clears these app-owned settings; it does not delete unrelated content in your Apple Account.

Security and retention

Network requests use encryption. Provider credentials are encrypted on the backend and are not shipped in the app. Operational logs are designed not to contain submitted writing or recordings. Account and usage records are kept while needed to provide the service, manage access, and handle support.

Your choices

Turn off AI processing in WriteForge → Plans & Usage. New AI requests will stop; snippet insertion remains available.
Use Clipboard mode for more control over the text you provide.
Disable keyboard Full Access in iOS Settings.
Manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple Account settings.

Delete your account

In WriteForge → Plans & Usage, tap Delete Account and confirm with Apple. We revoke Apple sign-in authorization and delete your profile, sign-in sessions, consent, request history, and granted or redeemed access. Custom actions and snippets are cleared from this app and its iCloud settings.

We retain a minimal keyed identity hash and original purchase-account token, plus Apple transaction state and monthly billing totals, to prevent a purchase from being transferred to someone else or its allowance being reset. These records do not retain your name or email and cannot sign in to your account. Encrypted backups are removed under the backup retention schedule rather than rewritten after each deletion.

Deleting your WriteForge account does not automatically delete content third-party AI providers may have retained. Provider-held content remains subject to the applicable service policies and legal obligations. Contact us at info@nullflip.com for help with a data request.

Deleting your account does not cancel Apple billing. You can cancel through Apple’s subscription settings.
